The revolution will be televised

We are a coalition of students from various universities and influencers from across the nation fighting to empower marginalized communities through social media.

what we do

01

create awareness

Through social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter we educate the mass public on social and institutional issues that affect those of marginalized communities. We have a heavy emphasis on bettering Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs); however, we also fight to eradicate discrimination within state legislatures, within oneself, and anywhere it can be found.

02

make changes

As the Black Menaces, we seek to make all necessary changes to ensure the mental, emotional, and physical safety of every person of a marginalized community. Through our platform, we believe that we can change educational systems, nationwide policies, and the minds of the public.

our story

voices that will be heard

In early February of 2022 five friends decided that change needed to happen in order to make their predominantly white institution (Brigham Young University) a safe place for all of its students. We created the Black Menaces to reform systems that oppress anyone that is "othered" for just being themselves. We are Menaces, because we seek the uncomfortable for growth and will do what is needed regardless of societal pressure.

Reforming Higher Education

As current and former students of Brigham Young University, one of the most conservative universities in the nation, we have learned the desperate need for our colleges and universities go through reformation. We are dedicated to changing the curriculum, systems, DEI requirements, and administrations in every college and university in the United States. We know there is a need for change, and we believe through collaboration, direct social pressure, and a consistent fight we can accomplish a safe space for students of marginalized communities.

Strike Out Queerphobia

On October 11th, 2022, in partnership with R.E.A.P and queer activists across the country, we organized a nationwide protests gathering thousands of people on 30+ college and high school campuses to protest the discriminatory practices by religious universities against queer students and staff.
